Who is The Hill Sounds?

The Hill Sounds is a fresh new sample library and drum kit store created by veteran music producer 8 Bars. With over a decade of experience in the music industry and placements with artists ranging from Rick Ross, Future, Joe Budden, PNB Rock, Lupe Fiasco, Gucci Mane, Wale, and many more, you can trust that you're getting top-tier samples crafted by an industry expert.

What Makes Your Drum Kits and Sample Packs Different?

Simple — we actually care about the music.

Every sound on the site is made from scratch by real producers, not just tossed together from recycled loops or overused one-shots. We focus on soul, hip hop, R&B, and anything with real character — and every pack goes through careful sound design, mixing, and quality control before it drops.

Whether you're looking for dusty soul samples, vintage score vibes, or knockin' drums, you'll find stuff here that feels intentional, not generic. No fluff. No filler. And no unclear licenses that leave room for surprises later on.

This is a library built by producers, for producers who want their beats to actually stand out.

Are Your Drum Kits and Sample Packs Royalty-Free?

Some kits on the site are royalty-free, but most follow a simple rule:

If you’re using the sounds in beats you’re leasing online or songs that don’t have a major label behind them and haven’t passed 1 million streams, you’re good — no clearance needed, no royalty splits.

But if the song does get a major label release or hits over 1 million streams, then it needs to be cleared.

Here’s what that means:

  • We get 20% of any production advance or fee you get paid
  • 20% publishing
  • And a co-producer credit

No surprises — we’ll never come asking you to pay anything out of pocket. All we ask is that you loop us in when something big happens and make sure our share is accounted for.

(And yeah, always check the product page or license for the exact terms — we keep it consistent.)

Would you sell my kit/sample packs on your site?

No. We do not accept submissions & will only work with producers & musicians we have relationships with & trust. This policy is to maintain the quality and integrity of our sample library.
